Grave Conversations

In a way this is mixed emotions for us. This is our conclusion to the story of Raymond Novakofski. We are sad that our time sharing Raymond's story has come to and end, and we are happy that we had a chance to bring this story to life again. A man with no family left, and a grave forgotten. A soldier who gave his life, and story that deserved to be told. 

Episode 4 continues the story of Raymond Novakofski. In this episode we felt a ton of emotions, especially as we approach his untimely death. Join us as we continue to tell the story that deserved to be told.

Episode 3 picks up with our attempt to learn more about Raymond. Our biggest find was a newsletter for the George Banta Publishing Company of Menasha, Wisconsin. This is the company that Raymond worked for as part of the night crew. Lot's of updates from his short time there, and while he was serving in the military! The newsletter went from updates on workers in the factory to updates of their workers who went off to the war! 

Episode 2, of the first season of The Grave Conversations podcast is here! In this episode we introduce the high school years of Raymond Novakofski. Raymond attended Menasha High School, with their help, we uncover the first few personal things we know about Raymond, and a second photo! We also talk about Raymond's first job!

We stumbled across Raymond’s grave and were fortunate enough to begin learning about his life. Truthfully, there were times we felt like Raymond helped us discover elements of his story because he wanted it to be told. It took some digging, but, with the help of many, we were able to get a heart wrenching look into the life and, sadly, untimely death, of Raymond Novakofski.
